ag-tech.systems Welcomes NRW.BANK and New Strategic Backers in Closing of Seed Round

Promotional bank NRW.BANK and new investment vehicle ag-tech Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG join a shareholder base that already includes Raiffeisen Ventures and power-electronics specialist ISEG Leistungselektronik Sachsen

Geilenkirchen, Germany, August 2026 – ag-tech.systems, developer of an electro-physical weed control platform, today announced the closing of its Seed financing round.

New backers joining this closing include NRW.BANK, the promotional bank of North Rhine-Westphalia, investing through its NRW.SeedCap seed-financing programme, and ag-tech Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG, a newly formed investment vehicle backed by several family offices and brought together by Nicolas Hübner, Managing Partner of the Family Office Hübner Invest GmbH.

They join a shareholder base that already includes Raiffeisen Ventures GmbH, the venture investment arm of German agricultural cooperative group Raiffeisen Waren-Zentrale Rhein-Main AG, and ISEG Leistungselektronik Sachsen GmbH, a specialist in high-voltage power electronics closely aligned with ag-tech.systems’ electro-physical technology, together with several angel investors with deep industry experience.

Together, this group of backers spans public-sector innovation funding, agricultural expertise, entrepreneurial capital and power-electronics engineering, reflecting the breadth of partners ag-tech.systems is assembling as it scales its plant protection platform.

“We see significant potential in ag-tech.systems’ technology and its ability to provide farmers with an effective alternative to conventional chemical plant-control methods. We are pleased to have brought together a strong group of entrepreneurial investors to support Marcus and his team in the company’s next phase of growth,” said Nicolas Hübner, Managing Partner of Hübner Invest GmbH.

“Innovation safeguards the long-term viability of our economy. The key is to ensure that good ideas do not remain stuck in the development phase, but make their way onto the market,” says Gabriela Pantring, Chairwoman of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK. “Young companies in particular need the right capital to achieve this. Through our investment in ag-tech.systems, we are supporting a technology from North Rhine-Westphalia on this journey, thereby strengthening innovation and competitiveness in our state.”

Looking ahead

The fresh capital will support ag-tech.systems’ next phase of product development, including the 2026 launch of the epc.160 for potato desiccation, cover crop termination and invasive species control.

The company also plans to develop larger machines for broadacre farming in North America, expand into additional target crops including oat desiccation, sugar beet, malting barley, rapeseed, wheat, chickpeas and cotton, and accelerate its international expansion beyond Germany into markets including Canada, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Meet ag-tech.systems at PotatoEurope 2026

ag-tech.systems will present its electro-physical weed control and desiccation technology at PotatoEurope 2026, the international outdoor exhibition for potato cultivation and machinery, taking place 9 and 10 September 2026 at Rittergut Gestorf in Springe, near Hannover, Germany.
